To friends now living far away,
I bid a greeting through this rhyme,
Wondering what they do this day,
Recalling memories from time.
Through trained pigeons of light I send
Letters to lands of north and east,
So distance does not friendships rend.
Upon their words of news I feast,
To know their lives are going well,
To hear of trials great and small,
And with my words I now can tell
Them stories of my life, of halls
I walked, the things I have seen, while
Defying the distance of miles.
