Our World

The mountains, valleys, the peaks and depths and streams,

The rivers, lakes, the oceans, seas, the forests

And jungles give dreamers scenes to draft new dreams

And scientific thinkers theories for tests.

All people; Shakespeare, Dickens, Lincoln, Churchill,

Mozart, Bach, Picasso filling Earth; one dot

Of blue sailing through space. Our dreams, our fears fill

One sphere; if we vanish all would only rot.

It is a home, our home, so small, with one race

Flowing through life, being caught up in the tide

That carries them over the world's shifting face

Oblivious to the celestial ride.
